My latest trek into the woods proved to be a very interesting one! I decided to take a path I'd never followed before and it started here at this glorious array of red bushes!
I came upon this gloomy-looking tree, 'Why the long face?', I asked him.
'Did you see the sky?', he groaned.
'It's going to rain again, and my trunk is just drying off!'
'Pardon me ma'am!' I turned to see this grand tree peaking out at me cautiously. 'You should check out the argument going on over there!'
Across the path, there was a heated debate going on between three trees. I didn't catch the subject of the squabble, but I overheard a few snippets!
'Talk to the hand, cuz the face don't understand!' This large tree was not happy!
'Oh no she dih-int!', voiced Ms. Curvy!
'Alright, hold on you two....', this older and wiser matriarch seemed to be mediating the fight!
My interest peaked as I thought I was about to find out what a bunch of trees had to fight about, when I heard someone shushing me! 'Don't mind that bunch, they're always finding something to argue about! Look over there...'
'Did you eat my porridge?' I was surprised to see what looked like a bear, but it was a tree! 'Look around, there are some shape-shifting trees close-by!'
I looked up to hear some very loud squawking! 'Ever seen Jurassic Park Part Three?' This tree was imitating a pterodactyl!
I felt the ground shake and looked through the trees. I heard a loud roar and had to take another look....
...sure enough! I found the Island Elephant Tree!
'You may want to drop by the funny farm!' This pretty tree directed me towards a group of trees who consider themselves comedians!
'Very funny...' I smirked.
'Yeah, she got her looks from her father, he's a plastic surgeon!'
'I've been looking for a girl like you my entire life! A girl like you, but not you.' This tree fancied himself a regular Groucho Marx!
As I walked away, I could hear the one-liners in the distance...'Did you hear? My brother thinks he's a chicken! We don't talk him out of it because we need the eggs.'
Once again, I got caught up in the woods and lost track of time! The sun was already setting. It's amazing what you can see and hear when you let your imagination run free!
